Storyline :
Anil Kumar "Sona" (Shammi Kapoor) finds a young woman named Roopa who fell from the third storey of the hotel at night where he regularly performs as a musician under the stage name "Rocky." Roopa's younger sister, Sunita (Asha Parekh), believes that her sister committed suicide because of a ruined affair with Rocky, and she comes to seek vengeance. She and Anil fall in love, but he doesn't know how to tell her that he and Rocky are the same person.
Anil takes the help of a rich older man who pretends to be Anil's uncle to help Anil impress Sunita and her father. A police detective reveals that Roopa didn't commit suicide but was actually pushed from the third floor. An expensive shirt button was found clenched in her hand. Is the killer Roopa's jealous fiancee Ramesh, who now has plans for Sunita? Or is it the dancer Ruby who is pining for Rocky? The climax reveals the identity of the murderer.

tumne mujhe dekhaa, ho kar meharabaan
ruk gayee ye zameen, tham gayaa aasamaan
jaana-ye-man jaana-ye-jaan....

kahee dard kee seharaa me, rukate chalate hote
in-hothhon-kee hasarat me, tapate jalate hote
meharabaan ho gayee, zulf kee badaliyaan
jaana-ye-man jaana-ye-jaan....

lekar ye haseen jalawe, tum bhee naa kahaa pahuche
aakhir ko mere dil tak, kadamon ke nishaan pahuche
khatm se ho gaye, raaste sab yahaa
jaana-ye-man jaana-ye-jaan.....

Nagari Nagari Dware Dware Lyrics from Mother India

Nagari nagari dware dware dhundu re sawaria
Piya piya rut ke mai to ho gayi re bawaria
Nagari nagari dware dware dhundu re sawaria

Bedardi balamane mohe thoka gun ki aag mai
Biraha ki chingari dardi dukhiya ke suhaag mai
Pal pal manava roye chalake nainoki gagariya
Nagari nagari dware dware dhundu re sawaria

Aai thi akhiyon me lekar sapane kya kya pyar ke
Jati hoon to aasu lekar aashaye sab harake
Duniya ke mele mai loot gayi jeevan ki gathariya
Nagari nagari dware dware dhundu re sawaria

Darshan ke do bhuke naina jeevan bhar na soyenge
Bichade sajan tumare karan raton ko hum royenge
Ab na jaane rama kaise bitegi umariya
Nagari nagari dware dware dhundu re sawaria
Piya piya rut ke mai to ho gayi re bawaria

The beauty of this song cannot be described in words!!! this is just ethereal..one of my all time favourite songs..Everything about this song is just so marvelous!! Lyrics of Hasarat Jaipuri, Ramlal's composition, !! everything.. and what can I say about Kishori Amonkar's singing.. She has really excelled! It is mystical. This is almost cosmic. Ramlal Choudhry is one the forgotten musical talents of the film industry. In 1944, he arrived in Mumbai and started working as an assistant to music director Ram Ganguly in Prithviraj Kapoor's Prithivi Theatre Group. There, he played the flute on tracks like 'Dekh Chaand Ki Aor' sung by Shamshad Begam and Shailesh, 'Jindaa Hoon is Tarah Ki Ghame Zindagi' sung by Mukesh, 'Raat Ko Jo Chamake Taare' sung by Shamshad Begam and Mukesh, and 'Kaahe Koyaliyaa Shor Machaae Re', sung by Shamshad Begam.
His began his career as an independent music director in 1950, in producer P. L. Santoshi's Tangaawalla starring Raj Kapoor-Vaijayantimala. He recorded six songs for this film. Unfortunately for him the movie was never released.

Choudhry continued to play the flute and shehnai in a number of movies. He got another opportunity to work as a music director for the Baal Hardeep produced film, Husnbaano. The film was successful and earned him recognition. His songs Yaa Nabeeb Salaam Lai Jaa and Pyaar Karane Ka Ayaa Jamaana became hit songs. Subsequently, he worked for producer-director V. Shantaram's Sehara. In 1965, the film Geet Gaaya Pattharon Ne showcased his musical brilliance. 'Tere Khayalo Mein Hum' sung by Asha Bhosle, 'Saanson Ke Taar Par' and 'Dhadakan Ki Taal Par' sung by Asha Bhosle and Mahendra Kapoor, became hit songs.
Unfortunately, Ramlal Choudhry soon was out of work due to the scheming of some powerful music directors and renowned producers. He decided to produce his own film with a partner, Charles. He started the film, Tyagi under the banner 'Panna Pictures' but sadly for Choudhry, the partner left him stranded. Choudhry lost a lot of money and a whisper campaign started in the industry maligning his career as a producer. He didn't work again in the industry.

K L Saigal (1904--1947) is considered as the first superstar of the Hindi film industry. Kundan Lal Saigal was born on 11th April, 1904 at Nawa Shahar in Jammu State. His mother was a deeply religious lady who was very fond of music. She used to take young Kundan to various religious functions where Bhajan, Keertan and Shabad were sung in traditional styles. Kundan Lal often accompanied his father to the interior parts of the State where he would soak into the folk music of Punjab and Kashmir straight from the wandering shepherds.

His formal schooling was brief and uneventful. He started earning by working in the Railways as a timekeeper and later at the Remington Typewriters as a salesman, which allowed him to tour to several places in India. Meanwhile, his passion for singing continued and became more intense with the passage of time. Finally, he landed at Calcutta in early 1930s and met R C Boral, music director of New Theatres. R C Boral took instant liking to his talents and Saigal was employed on a contract basis.
