kavi pradeep with few lyrics and songs

India Post will Issue a commemorative stamp on Kavi Pradeep today.Kavi Pradeep (1915–1998), born Ramchandra Baryanji Dwivedi, was a renowned poet and songwriter who is best known for his patriotic song,Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo, written as tribute to the soldiers who had died defending the country, during the Sino-Indian War .

His first recognition came for his patriotic lyrics for the film Bandhan  (1940), though it was forwriting a daringly patriotic song, “Door Haaton aye Duniya walon” (Move Away O Outsiders), in India’s first golden jubilee hit, Kismat (1943), that his status as a nationalistic writer got immortalized as, as soon after the film’s release, having provoked the ire of British government, he was forced to go underground to avoid arrest.

In a career span, of nearly five decades, Kavi Pradeep, wrote about 1,700 songs, nationalistic poems including the lyrics for some 72 films, including hits like, “Chal Chal Re Naujawan”, filmBandhan (1940), “Aao Bachchon Tumhe Dikhayen” and “De Di Hame Azaadi Bina Khadag Bina Dhaal”, film Jagriti (1954), and “Yahaan vahaan jahaan tahaan mat poochho kahaan kahaan”, film Jai Santoshi Ma, (1975) for which he also did a play back version in the film. In 1958,HMV, released an album of 13 songs with his lyrics, soon he was made the Rashtrakavi, (Poet Laureate), and came to be known as, Kavi Pradeep

In 1997, he was honoured by India’s highest award in Cinema, the Dada Saheb Phalke Award  for Lifetime Achievement. He worked on five more movies for Bombay Talkies. .Kismat  is known for its patriotic song “Aj Himalay ki choti se phir hamne lalkara hai, door hato ae duniyawalon Hindustan hamara hai”.

Mashal was his next film and it features the extremely popular song “Upar gagan vishal, niche gahara pataal, bich mein dharati, wah mere malik tune kiya kamal…” sung by Manna Dey . Kavi Pradeep was at his creative zenith when he wrote for the films Nastik and Jagriti. He even lent his voice for the evergreen song “Dekh tere sansar ki halat kya ho gayi bhagwaan kitna, badal gaya insaan…”.Jagriti is considered to be among his best work for one movie since it includes hit songs such as “Aao bachchon tumhe dikhayen jhanki Hindustan ki, is mitti se tilak karo, yeh dharti hai balidan ki…”, “Hum laye hain toofan se kishti nikal ke, is desh ko rakhna mere bachon sambhal ke…” and “Dedi humein azadi bina khadak bina dhal, Sabarmati ke sant tune kar diya kamal…”.

His songs were so popular that movies would get repeat audiences just to listen to his soulful songs. Kavi Pradeep always believed in writing songs with a meaning and made sure the songs he wrote fit into the situation of the movie. The popularity of his songs were also due to his down to earth lyrics and simple language that was well understood by everyone. He stayed in Mumbai until he died on 11 Dec 1998.

Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends - but only one mother in the whole world. ~Kate Douglas Wiggin

SHANKER SEETA ANUSUYA movie - Hamne Jag Ki Ajab Tasveer Dekhi Lyrics

hamne jag ki ajab tasveer dekhi
ek hansta hai dus rote hai
yeh (prabhu ki adbhut) - 2
jaagir dekhi
ek hansta hai dus rote hai

hamen hanste mukhade chaar mile - 2
dujhiyaare chehare hazaar mile
yahaa sukh se sau guni peer dekhi
ek hansta hai dus rote hai
hamne jag ki ajab tasveer dekhi
ek hansta hai dus rote hai

do ek sukhi yahaan laakhon mein - 2
aansu hai karodon aankhon mein
hamne gin gin har taqdeer dekhi
ek hansta hai dus rote hai
hamne jag ki ajab tasveer dekhi
ek hansta hai dus rote hai

kuchh bol prabhu yeh kya maya - 2
tera khel samajh mein na aaya
hamne dekhe mehal re kutir dekhi
ek hansta hai dus rote hai
hamne jag ki ajab tasveer dekhi
ek hansta hai dus rote hai

LYRICS WITH TRANSLATION :-

Koi Lakh kare chaturai karm ka lekh mite na re bhai

Karm ka lekh mite na re bhai

zara samjo iski sachchai re karam ka lekh mite na re bhai

Is duniya me bhagye ke aage chalna kisi ka upaiye

kagad ho to sab koi banche karam na bancha jai

Ek din Isi kismat ke karan banko gaye the raghu rai re

karam ka lekh mite na re bhai

Kahe manva dhiraj khota kahe tu nahak roye

apna sooch kabhi nahi hota bhagya kare to hoi

chahe ho raja chahe bhikhari thokar sabhi ne yaha khai re

karam ka lekh mite na re bhai

Koi Lakh kare chaturai karm ka lekh mite na re bhai

"It means however one tries to become clever or intelligent but he can't change the results of his (Karma)actions. I he has done something wrong in his life but has hidden it from the rest of the world it doesn't means that he won't be punished for his acts."

Karm ka lekh mite na re bhai

"Law of Karma is universal and equal to all. Whatever we have done, can't be erased. We will get results according to our karma(actions). The past can't be changed. "

zara samjo iski sachai re karam ka lekh mite na re bhai

"You must understand this realty , that law of Karma can never be changed."

Is duniya me bhagye ke aage chalna kisi ka upaiye

"No one can outrun or escape their destiny. Whatever is written in their destiny is going to happen. And Destiny is made by our Karma "

kagad ho to sab koi banche karam na bancha jai

"We can share everything but this Karma can't be shared. We can't be paid or punished for others Karma. Only the person himself is responsible for his life."

Ek din Isi kismat ke karan banko gaye the raghu rai re

"Even due to this destiny Lord Rama have go in exile (Forest). Even God is bounded by this law of Karma."

karam ka lekh mite na re bhai

"that law of Karma can never be changed"

kahe manva dhiraj khota kahe tu nahak roye

"Don't be depressed , don't weep"

apna sooch kabhi nahi hota bhagya kare to hoi

"Nothing is going to happen as per our wish. Whatever is destined is going to happen."

chahe ho raja chahe bhikhari thokar sabhi ne yaha khai re

"Either you are King or a Beggar , every one is falled due to his Karma. "

karam ka lekh mite na re bhai

"No one can change their destiny"

Do Bigha Zamin (meaning "two acres of land") is 1953 Bollywood film, directed by Bengali film director Bimal Roy and star Balraj Sahni and Nirupa Roy in lead roles. The film is known for its socialist theme, and is an important film in the early parallel cinema of India and is rightly considered a trend setter.]

Like most of movies by Bimal Roy, art and commercial cinema are merged to create a movie that is still looked upon as a benchmark and paved way for future cinema makers in the Indian neo-realist movement[2] and the Indian New Wave, which began in the 1950s.

Di Bigha Zameen was the first film to win the Filmfare Best Movie Award and the first Indian film to win the International Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2005, Indiatimes Movies ranked the movie amongst the Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films.

The Title Do bhigha jamin ;-

The movie got the name from a famous poem by Rabindranath Tagore, called "Dui Bigha Jomi".

In the name of the movie "Two Bigha of Land" or Two Acres of Land, Bigha or Acre is a unit of measuring land. Bigha varies from state to state. In Bengal,
where the movie is based, 3 bigha is one acre (4,000 m²). Therefore, Shambhu owns only 2,700 m².

Story Plot :-

The story revolves around a farmer, Shambhu (Balraj Sahni), who has been hit badly by a famine in Bengal. The real reason of his sorrow is that the Zamindar (land owner) wants to acquire his land on the pretext that Shambhu had taken some loan from him. Shambhu has to pay back the landlord and hence moves to the city to look for some other source of money.

The most famous scene from the movie is when Shambhu pushes himself to the limit pulling a rickshaw. The rider on the rickshaw offers Shambhu more money to pull faster because he is chasing (probably) his girlfriend who is in another carriage. Shambhu can not resist the temptation, and he keeps smiling in anticipation of getting more money. However, his wealthy customer is not worried the least about the lower class' plight. In this race, rickshaw loses a wheel and Shambhu is injured.

However, through all these hardships Shambhu does not lose his righteousness, which is the moral of the movie. Shambhu's son steals money to help his father, only to be reproached by his father later. Shambhu's morality is the only thing that remains his own till the end.

The movie ends with Shambhu returning to his village, only to see his land sold and a factory being constructed over it.

Suraiya was independent India's first big movie star.
Someone who moved Indians to frenzy, like no other star had done in her time. By her ethereal beauty and her stunning voice. 'You have brought Mirza Ghalib alive,' Nehru told her, after watching Mirza Ghalib.
Then, abruptly, Suraiya said sayonara to the limelight.
For more than 40 years after her retirement from show business, she lived the life of a recluse, only occasionally venturing into the public gaze, to accept an honour from her countless admirers.
And through all those years, Suraiya remained the movie star she was.
She lived in a house full of stuffed dolls, dressed up like a queen even when she visited a neighbour next door and was graceful in real life as she was on celluloid.
For most of her life she lived a few metres from the Arabian Sea, on Mumbai's famed Marine Drive. Few Indians knew that, and many came to know what a huge star she was only after she died quietly, almost unnoticed in a Mumbai hospital, last week.
Dhimant Thakkar knew Suraiya for over 30 years. He, his wife and daughters Amee and Camy saw her almost every day. For Suraiya, they were family.
One of Indian cinema's greatest legends, as seen through the eyes of three people who knew her best.

Dhimant Thakkar: After her mother Mumtaz Begum -- an excellent cook -- died, she had a maid to do the cooking. But in the last two years she did not like her maid's cooking. She ate very little. I used to bring her a tiffin from my home on the way to the office. Sometimes she came home for dinner.
Camy Sanghvi: She had her own room in our house. She stayed with us for the last six months of her life. She never knew even how to boil water.
Amee Shah: For breakfast she had bread and malai(cream). She loved fresh malai. When she came home for lunch she ate Roti, Dal and vegetables. When her mother was alive, she ate lots of non-veg food. After her mother's death she stopped eating non-veg regularly. In the last few years she ate non-veg rarely. She loved Chinese food and the only places we went out with her was to China Garden (a wellknown Mumbai restaurant) and the Willingdon Club (a Mumbai club) .
All the maids (one of whom is in the picture) came during the day, did their work and left. She stayed alone.

Amee Shah: I was four when she retired so I didn't know her as a star. She used to come home with her mother. Slowly, she became Suraiya aunty in our lives. I never knew her grandmother. Her mother died in 1987. Suraiya aunty was so upset that she stayed with us for two months to recover.
She used to tell us it was only three steps from her home to her car, and yet there would be a melaoutside to see her. Once she traveled to Ajmer by train to shoot for a film. The platform at Ajmer was overflowing with people. The film's director told her she needed to wave out to the crowds; only then would they disperse. She stood in the doorway of the compartment and waved. Her dupatta slipped and fell onto the platform. There was a near riot. In seconds it was torn to shreds. Everyone wanted a piece of Suraiya's dupatta.
We celebrated Id, Diwali, New Year and birthdays together.
Perhaps the last trophy she received -- the Screen Videocon award for lifetime achievement (1997) sits alongside other memorablia from a memorable career.
